Background to the Seminar Series

ACTS’ mission is to influence science, technology and innovation policy in Africa through promoting access to improved knowledge and learning on key STI issues. In collaboration with the AfricaLics network we have launched a Seminar Series focusing on issues relating to innovation and development for Africa to promote dialogue on neglected areas of research and policy action.

The seminar series will be free to attend and open to all. This will include, where possible, live web-casting and tweeting of questions from participants around the world to our seminar speakers. The series will host a seminar every three months with future topics to include the resource curse, low-carbon energy, gender, financing innovation and design/engineering innovation for development. The seminar series is made possible through funding from Sida, Sweden.
